Hey, just wanted to thank you! You’re the most concise and knowledgeable resource I’ve found on the attempt to convert a language to runes. I had the idea of creating a wing design for one of my characters using a highly-stylized word in runes (likely won’t recognize it unless you can recognize runes) and you delivered flawlessly.

Hi, great website. Very well researched and set up.
I want to carve the words Open, as in an open heart; Impermanence; Non-Violence; and Dignity. All in Anglo-Saxon runes. Do you have any examples of these words or cognates of them? I’d really appreciate your help. I’m aiming for a measure of authenticity.

If I were to translate the name, Iskaldr, (I don’t remember where I came across it at first, I spent a while studying old norse a few years back, but if I recall it’s the masculine of Ice Cold), how would write that in runes? Is there a nice neat way to write it? Do I need to have something to represent the “s” sound, or can I let the Isa rune take it’s place, to achieve “Ice” “Cold”? I’m just not sure what would be more authentic to do. Thank you.

My brothers and I are looking to get this quote from the Njals and Grettis sagas tattooed and were hoping to have it translated to runes as accurately as possible.

If i were to write something fairly long into runes would it be more accutate to translate my phrase into Icelandic, then use the icelandic letters and convert their letters into younger futhark runes?
