Years ago the family and I stopped off at the Badlands, but before entering at the info gate, there was a CDC sign warning of plague. It started me wondering about the DNA of the plague in rodent fleas around areas thought to have been visited by Norse. Could they track migration that way? Surprisingly enough, bubonic plague is much more common around the US than most think.
